Tuscany
famous as the cradle of Italian art and culture is the perfect
setting for an art vacation in Tuscany. American professor
of Art,
Rosemary
Castiglioni, has arranged a fantastic course
here at Casa Portagioia for artists and all lovers of Tuscan
art. The Tuscan Art Course in May 2010 promises a memorable
introduction to Etruscan art as well as time to reflect and
enjoy the Tuscan countryside.
If you
are an artist - or merely have an interest in painting, and have
need of time to focus in a relaxed atmosphere, or if you are new
to creating visual art, yet would like to have help on that
journey, don't you owe this time to yourself?
Tuscany
is a treasure trove of Etruscan artefacts. The
museum of the Etruscan Academy in Cortona which
was founded in 1727 by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Giangastone
dei Medici, will be available to us for an encounter with their
ancestral spirit. Perhaps this experience will provide you with
a modern echo of their rich lives, which may be developed in
your own art.
As an
expert of all things Etruscan,
Sarah Miatt will speak with
us and share insights into her art making, which has been
heavily influenced by the Etruscans.
The
glorious local, light filled landscapes will provide you with
continuous inspiration so that you may work on or near Casa
Portagioia,
The
course will also include day trips - e.g. to Pienza and
Montepulciano for even more inspiration and - some shopping!
