Casa Portagioia offer 2 self-catering apartments.  These include a fully fitted kitchen (four burner hob, fan-assisted oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, Bosch® dishwasher, lots of cupboard space along with a multitude of quality saucepans, serving utensils, crockery and cutlery, glasses, bowls, serving dishes and jugs (you'll want for nothing - even two types of coffee maker!).  Both apartments have interior and exterior dining areas; with the upper apartment, Funghini,  having a private terrace with panoramic views, while the lower apartment, Andreocci, has a private, planted rose pergola, also with wonderful views.  

Both apartments have wood-burning stoves in the main living room coupled with self-controllable central heating throughout the apartment assuring a cosy off-season visit too.  Each apartment is tastefully decorated and furnished with its own bathroom.  Air-conditioning cools the bedroom and satellite television/radio for your relaxation.  All external windows are fitted with insect nets enabling windows to be left open at all times during the warm Tuscan evenings.

Each apartment includes a double bedroom with a king size (5') orthopaedic bed with all quality freshly laundered Egyptian cotton bedding provided.  Each has lots of storage space and an en-suite bathroom including large shower cabinet, bidet, dual-flush toilet and vast wash stand.  Safety sockets, shaver point, large vanity cabinet and a selection of bathroom linen, shower mats and robes are also provided.  Each shower is fitted with an internal safety alarm. 

Meanwhile, the main living area offers a very comfortable 5' sofa/divan (sleeps 1/2) of the highest quality (all bedding can be stored in the main bedroom or, in Andreocci, a spare storage room). 

For 'self-catering' purposes the local shops are limited though perfectly adequate for general items and a rather good coffee too, the nearest shop being a couple of minutes drive or a fifteen minute walk perhaps! - however, only general provisions are available.  Larger supermarkets, Euro Spar and Co-op, are available in Castiglion Fiorentino, about 5km, and are open until 20:00 during the season offering a full range of local and other produce, plus excellent fresh meat and fish counters.  There is a rather nice Gelateria (ice-cream parlour) opposite Euro Spar which certainly deserves a visit!  For your convenience, Casa Portagioia can provide an arrival provisioning service to get you started with the basics.  The nearest garage for fuel is about 5km.

Various other services are available upon request including professional hairdressing by Marcello, bicycle hire, serviced laundry and drying, internet access etc. (see Additional Services).  During the main season we regularly provide a rather special and informal dinner in our dining room over 5-courses.  These evenings are more in the nature of a dinner party for those of our guests who choose to join us.

Apartment guests, if they wish, can also enjoy breakfast in the dining room between 08:30 - 10:30 for an additional charge of €13.00 per guest.  Alternatively, fresh pastries, croissant and breakfastie things are available at the local shop.  Guests should also be aware that use of the solar-heated Swimming Pool (pool opening times 07:00 - 22:00) is entirely at our visitors own risk.

Notes: You are requested to vacate your apartment by 10:30 on your day of departure.  Apartments will be available from 15:00 on your arrival date.  We're sorry to say that no pets are permitted and we also discourage children under 12 as we believe our facilities are unsuitable, particularly with an unattended swimming pool on site.  Convenient parking spaces are always available.
